Singer Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, stated that he and some of his peers should have retired from music by now.
The 45-year-old explained that in the past, musicians didn’t maintain long careers.
During an appearance on the Adesope live show, Rudeboy noted that balancing family life with an active music career is challenging.
“In the old days of the music industry, people like us would have retired by now,” he said.
“There’s a season for everything in life, and certain events are inevitable. If you’re a celebrity and believe you’ll always be viewed as flawless, you’re mistaken—you won’t get far. There will always be times when things turn against you; that’s just how it is.
“Every top artist has faced criticism and scandals. Even those just starting out will eventually go through the same. It’s a common experience in the entertainment industry. What truly matters is your character and how you manage these challenges.”
