This profound loss is evident in his latest collaboration with Asake on the track ‘MMS’, where Wizkid’s verse poignantly reflects how his mother’s death has profoundly impacted and changed him.
The singer revealed that he felt “lost” after his mother’s death but eventually discovered his purpose.

According to the report, Wizkid’s mother, Jane Morayo Balogun, passed away on August 18, 2023, in London.
On what would have been her birthday on July 4th, Wizkid expressed his sorrow, stating that his life feels empty without her. He emphasized how much he misses her daily, noting that his heart is permanently broken.
Wizkid also revealed plans to release a new album in honor of his late mother.
The album is titled ‘Morayo’ which indicates his mother’s middle name.
