Nigerian singer Panshak Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince, has reflected on his challenging upbringing as an orphan.
The Aboki hitmaker revealed that his struggles deepened after losing his mother at 21, following the loss of his father when he was just 11 years old.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Listen podcast, Ice Prince shared that he took on various menial jobs to fund his education but was unable to attend university because he couldn’t afford ₦20,000.
He said, “I don’t have a mother or father, and I’m an only son, which is quite challenging. I lost my dad when I was 11 and my mum when I was around 21 or 22. On top of that, I have a large family that relies on me.
“I don’t have any uncles, aunts, godfathers, or godmothers to lean on. It’s been nothing but God guiding my life.
“I want people to see my journey and realize that if I can succeed, then no one has an excuse to fail.”
