Chidimma Adetshina, the Miss Universe runner-up, has revealed her decision to leave pageantry.
In a recent interview with Silverbird TV, she shared that her experience in pageantry has been traumatic.
She mentioned that she is stepping away for personal reasons and plans to move back to Nigeria from South Africa, where she has been living separately.
“Finishing in the top 2 at Miss Universe is still surprising to me… Honestly, I’m done. Pageantry was truly a traumatic experience for me,” she stated.
“People still don’t fully grasp how I felt. There were moments during the Miss Universe competition when I almost gave up. I am completely done with pageantry now. I want to concentrate on myself, figure out who I am, and continue my education.”
Following her 1st runner-up finish at Miss Universe, Adetshina was crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
She claimed the Miss Nigeria title after pulling out of the Miss South Africa competition due to criticism regarding her nationality.
