Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has voiced her disappointment over the excitement shown by fans of Big Brother Naija (BBN) despite the country’s economic difficulties.
The ninth season of the annual reality TV show started on July 28, featuring 28 housemates paired in duos.
The show has brought excitement to many Nigerians despite the ongoing hardship.
In response, Destiny Etiko questioned in a post on her Instagram page on Monday how people could be happy about a TV show while citizens are struggling to survive.
She lamented that people were going hungry and emphasized that more attention should be centered on the country’s problems.
She wrote: “Our country is in a dire state, and I still see some people happy about BBN.
“Hmmmmm, it’s surprising. Do you all still have enough money for DATA? If you guys do not complain, then who am I to do so?
“I am mainly worried d about the poor masses. Just because you can survive doesn’t mean everyone can.”
This season, themed “No Loose Guard,” promises exciting twists designed to keep viewers engaged for the next 10 weeks.
