Maverick entertainer Charles Oputa, well-known as Charly Boy, has urged Nigerian youths to escalate the EndBadGovernance protests nationwide.
In a post on his official X account on Tuesday, the well-known activist stated that the fight for good governance is a fight for life.
He stated, “My dear Nigerian youths, I trust you now understand what we are up against. We cannot make an omelet without breaking eggs, and those in power are deeply entrenched in their ways.
“We are governed by people who are corrupt, dishonest, insane, intolerant, and not bother whether we live or die. This is the fight of our lives, and you are my source of pride.
We can beat this monster that has befallen us, we need to get louder and go pro max”.
The reporter reports that the protest against the high cost of living, which took place last Thursday, is expected to continue for at least ten days.
Despite President Bola Tinubu’s appeal in his nationwide address on Sunday, protesters took to the streets in many states on Monday, demanding immediate action to reduce the prices of fuel, food, and other essential commodities.
However, the protests saw a very low turnout nationwide on Tuesday after demonstrators were reportedly suppressed by security forces on Monday.
