Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, has shared insights into her life and challenges before achieving fame.
During a pre-premiere dinner for Funke Akindele’s movie Everybody Loves Jenifa, Mama G revealed that she took on various odd jobs to support her family before finding success.
She also commended Funke Akindele, describing her as a hardworking individual, much like herself.
She said, “Funke Akindele is an incredibly strong woman, and I admire strong women because I consider myself one too. At home, I handle many responsibilities and have endured countless challenges to become the person I am today.
“I used to visit morgues to prepare dead bodies just so my children could go to school and have food to eat. I did everything necessary to ensure my family’s well-being.
“Although it’s said that no one is celebrated in their hometown, my community appreciates me because they witnessed all the struggles I overcame.”
“That’s how I view Funke. When I see her, I see myself. She’s a reflection of who I am.”
