Hon. Enema Paul, the former Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, has passed away.
He died in the early hours of Saturday at a private hospital in Abuja after a brief illness, the details of which have not been disclosed.
At the time of his death, Hon. Paul represented the Okura State Constituency in the 8th Assembly of Kogi State.
Hon. Paul resigned as Kogi State Deputy Speaker due to health reasons and was subsequently replaced by Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola, who represents the Ibaji State Constituency.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, has expressed condolences to the family of the late former Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Enema Paul, whose death was announced early Saturday today 14/12/24.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed, and made available to journalists in Lokoja.
He described the late Assembly member as a friend who was temperate, humble, a team player, and a dedicated lawmaker and public servant.
Rt. Hon. Umar emphasized that the former Deputy Speaker was deeply committed to the unity of the state and showed a sincere desire to promote people-centered legislation for the state’s overall development.
He also highlighted that Enema Paul was a devoted Christian who transcended religious boundaries, with unwavering godliness and a strong commitment to family values.
The Speaker prayed for God to grant strength and comfort to the immediate family and members of both the current and previous Assembly to cope with the significant loss.
