Veteran Comedian Igosave Expresses Concern Over the Widespread Hunger in Nigeria

Nigerian comedian Igosave has stirred reactions by voicing his sorrow over the severe hunger affecting many Nigerians.

In an Instagram story shared on December 9, 2024, he encouraged people to show compassion and assist those in need whenever possible.

He wrote, “The hunger in this country is so loud that you don’t need earphones to hear the sound…. The amount of ‘I Need Small Favour for Xmas’ on my phone this year is an all-time record breaker! Please lend a helping hand to whoever you can help if it’s convenient for you.”

His post struck a chord with many, prompting a flurry of responses from Nigerians who shared their frustrations and personal experiences with the soaring cost of living.

Here are some reactions:

“Omo! With how expensive things are now, I’m starting to agree with Jehovah’s Witnesses that Christmas isn’t really on December 25th.”

“Honestly, 300k can’t even buy a full supply of groceries anymore. 300k feels like 30k now. May God help this country!”

When T-Pain said during his campaign speech, “We will widen the taxes and reduce the purchasing power of the people…” and ended it with “bulaba balabu,” people focused more on the “bulaba.” Omo, it’s not even funny.

“I no even care about Christmas I don zero that one from my mind…na my houserent dey gimme hbu rn,,,I’m tired”

“It’s not easy. I just bought a battery for 93k. Even though you have money the money shouldnt lose all its value. We hope that the naira keeps on appreciating”
