Wizkid Sets a new Personal Record on Spotify

Afrobeats artist Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has broken the record for the highest opening day streams on Spotify Nigeria.

Wizkid’s R&B collaboration with American artist Brent Faiyaz, “Piece of My Heart,” previously held the record with 1.016 million streams on Nigerian Spotify in a single day.

However, his latest single, “Kese (Dance),” has now set a new record, achieving 1.57 million streams on Spotify Nigeria.

The track also broke the record for the highest opening day streams for an African song on global Spotify, reaching 2.753 million streams.

“Kese” is one of the lead singles from Wizkid’s much-awaited album, Morayo, which is set to be released later this month.

The singer shared that the album is a tribute to his late mother, Mrs. Morayo Jane Balogun.
