FCT Demolition: “You’re a Local Champion; Abuja isn’t Port Harcourt,” Aisha Yesufu Criticizes Wike

Socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu has criticized former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, calling him a “village champion.”

Yesufu remarked that Wike is confusing Abuja with Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, where his name once instilled fear in people.

Aisha Yesufu wrote on X, “Wike seems to think Abuja is Port Harcourt, where he was a local champion, and people trembled at the mere mention of his name.”

Meanwhile, reporter reported that socio-political critic Martins Ortse, also known as VeryDarkMan, recently criticized Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), over the demolition of the Ruga community.

In response to Wike’s comment, the social critic stated that displacing over 10,000 people would exacerbate security issues in the FCT.

Reporter reported that Wike had earlier directed the task force, “Operation Sweep,” to demolish Ruga and other communities in the nation’s capital, aiming to rid the city of what he viewed as nuisances and criminal activities.

After the demolition, Wike stated that the purpose of the action was to clean up and ensure the security of the FCT.
