Italy Mora, the Miss Universe contestant representing Panama, was disqualified just hours before the competition’s grand finale.
According to reporters, the global event’s finale is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Mexico.
Although the official reason for her disqualification has not been revealed, The New York Post reports that she was removed from the competition after making an unauthorized visit to her boyfriend, Juan Abadia’s hotel room in Mexico.
Italy Mora has denied the rumors, stating that she was disqualified after having a heated argument with the Miss Universe Panama director, Cesar Anel Rodriguez, regarding the event’s poor organization.
She claimed her boyfriend was present during the exchange of words.
Mora explained that the situation intensified when her boyfriend disclosed that he had paid for her expenses, including a $7,000 Carolina Herrera dress, due to the organization’s lack of support.
Mora was disqualified after pageant staff discovered her with her boyfriend, sparking claims of an unauthorized visit to his hotel room.
