A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Engr. Joseph Ciroma, has strongly condemned the recent attack on residents of Pasakori community in Jema’a Local Government Area by unidentified gunmen.
Reports indicate that the assailants killed around five individuals and left several others injured.
In a personal statement, Ciroma expressed deep shock at the tragic loss of lives and the harm caused to community members. He denounced the incident as a “heinous act,” asserting that there is no place in a civilized society for such perpetrators.
Ciroma was of the opinion that the attackers aimed solely to hinder the advancements made by the people of Jema’a LGA, Southern Kaduna, and Kaduna State in restoring trust, promoting unity, and rebuilding communities affected by conflict.
He expressed deep sympathy to the families who lost their loved ones and wished a quick recovery for the injured.
Ciroma urged the government to take necessary steps to capture those responsible for this heinous act and ensure they are held accountable under the law.
According to a source who spoke to a reporter security forces have since taken control of the area following the attack on the community to restore peace.
In 2015, the same community was also targeted by unidentified gunmen, resulting in fatalities, numerous injuries, the destruction of homes, and the burning of food supplies.
The state police spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, did not respond to calls seeking a comment on the incident.
