Manchester United has announced that Ruud van Nistelrooy is leaving the club.
Van Nistelrooy took on the interim role after Premier League manager Erik ten Hag was sacked.
The Red Devils issued a statement on Monday, coinciding with the arrival of their new head coach, Ruben Amorim, in the UK.
The statement said: “Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club. Ruud returned in the summer and has led the team as interim head coach for the last four matches.
“Ruud is, and will always remain, a Manchester United legend.
“We appreciate his efforts and the dedication he showed during his time with the club. He will always be warmly welcomed at Old Trafford.”
