Nollywood director Ama Psalmist has won the Film of the Year prize at The Future Awards Africa, held on November 10, 2024.
Ama Psalmist is a TV and film director with numerous works to his name. His projects include Once Upon a Honeymoon, Penance, My Mfon: An Election Day Story, Love Notes, Where the Heck Is My Period, Dear Diane, Clinically Speaking, and The Ghost and the Tout Too.
The 18th edition of The Future Awards Africa, themed “Celebrating the Great and Daring,” recognized young Africans who are pushing boundaries and transforming the continent’s future through technology, media, and other ways.
Nominees for the Prize for Film included Akinkunle Michael Akinrogunde (Ama Psalmist), Praise Onyeagwalam (Director Pink), Tola Okodugha, Fadamana Okwong, and Feyifunmi Oginni, with Akinkunle Michael (Ama Psalmist) emerging as the winner.
