On Sunday, Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State stated that God permitted the crisis in the state to achieve “political freedom.”

Fubara also asserted that instead of weakening, he is growing stronger each day.

He made this statement during a thanksgiving service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Shepard’s Hill Parish, in celebration of the appointment of His Royal Majesty, Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, as Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council.

The governor stated that he and his team have remained resilient, crediting God’s involvement for their strength.

He said, “What some see as trouble, I don’t view as trouble. To me, it’s part of God’s plan to set a new course for our state.

“From day one, God has elevated us, which is why, instead of weakening, we are growing stronger and more confident each day.”

We aim to complete our work, leaving behind a legacy of leaders who governed with reverence for God. We may not be flawless, but ultimately, there should be a reason for the angels to keep our souls from the devil.”

This statement comes amid Fubara’s ongoing conflict with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as the two clash over the state’s political structure.
