The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has rejected the claims in a viral video alleging that it sold adulterated Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in bottles and jerrycans.

Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, stated in a Thursday release that the company had conducted spot checks at all its outlets and found the allegations to be untrue.

The NNPCL has been made aware of a video showing someone pouring a dark liquid, allegedly Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), which he claims to have purchased from an NNPC Retail outlet at Keffi Flyover.

The NNPCL has clarified that the product shown in the video could not have come from any of its retail outlets, as the company does not sell petroleum products in bottles or jerrycans, as depicted in the clip.

NNPC Retail Ltd. emphasizes that it does not sell adulterated products, as it follows strict standards and quality control procedures throughout its operations.

The spokesperson added that these measures are in place to ensure that only high-quality, safe, and reliable petroleum products are provided at its stations across the country.

He urged the public to disregard the false claims made in the video and remain cautious of selfish and unpatriotic individuals promoting such narratives, as they have ill intentions for the country.

He emphasized that NNPCL is committed to upholding accurate pump integrity through regular inspections and calibrations to ensure consistency across all its stations nationwide.
