Today 7/11/24, Nigeria was thrown into darkness following yet another collapse of the national power grid.
According to the reporter, the main power supply was interrupted at around 11:20 am that day.
The Nigeria National Grid confirmed this on X through their handle, @NationalGridNg.
The tweet stated: “BREAKING: Another Grid Setback Experienced.”
This is the second grid collapse this week and the twelfth in the past eleven months.
The incident has prompted a variety of responses from Nigerians on social media.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria has yet to release an official statement explaining why the grid collapsed again on Thursday.
However, it’s worth noting that TCN attributed Tuesday’s collapse to line and generator trips.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, received an investigative report regarding Nigeria’s frequent grid collapses, though the findings have not been made public.
Remember that not long ago, Nigerians called for Adelabu’s dismissal due to the frequent grid collapses.”
