Professor Oguejiofo Ujam, a senior lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is also the Dean of the School of General Studies, was abducted on Sunday along the Ugwuogo-Nike-Opi-Nsukka road.
A report stated that the abduction of the university professor is part of a string of kidnappings that have taken place along the road in the past week.
In a Facebook post, social media influencer Chijinkem Ugwuanyi stated, “Prof Oguejiofo T. Ujam was kidnapped yesterday morning on the Ugwuogo-Nike-Opi-Nsukka road.”
He is a lecturer in the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry and serves as the Dean of the School of General Studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
“We need prayers for his safe and unharmed return.”
In addition, another lecturer, speaking anonymously, confirmed to our correspondent that the incident had been shared on the University of Nigeria’s Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) WhatsApp page.

There is growing concern over the frequent kidnappings along the Ugwuogo-Opi-Nsukka Road, despite numerous police and military checkpoints in the area.
Reports indicate that the hoodlums have also been kidnapping multiple road users daily over the past week.
The report also contacted the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Enugu State Police Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, but he has yet to respond to the report.
