Nigeria’s national grid has collapsed once again.
This marks the third occurrence within a single week.
The most recent collapse happened early Saturday morning, leaving several states in complete darkness.
According to data from the Nigerian System Operator’s portal (niggrid.org), report has it that the grid showed zero megawatts (MW) at 9:20 a.m. today.
This recent collapse follows two earlier failures this week, adding more pressure to the already unstable power system.
Both businesses and households are still grappling with the country’s unreliable electricity supply, worsened by the rising cost and scarcity of fuel.
