Gunmen Have Killed Five in a new Attack in Plateau

Gunmen have carried out another attack on rural communities in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of at least five people.

This information was shared in a statement on Tuesday by Farmasum Fuddang, Chairman of the Bokkos Cultural Development Council, and Secretary Duwam Bosco.

They reported that the attack took place on Monday, October 14, and expressed concern over previous assaults that have resulted in numerous fatalities.

They mentioned that the unprovoked attack occurred despite a security meeting with police and military officials in Bokkos on October 13. This incident followed a week of violent assaults in which more than ten community members were brutally killed.

“Four young men, who were guarding their family’s home, were tragically ambushed while on watch. The attackers then stormed the compound and killed an elderly man, bringing the total death toll to five.

The statement also detailed previous fatalities: five in Wumat on October 7, four in Kuba on October 10, one in Maikatako on October 11, and another on October 12.”
