Sunday Igboho Submits Petition to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer for Yoruba Nation

Freedom fighter Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Igboho, has presented a petition to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, urging the establishment of a Yoruba nation.

The petition was submitted on behalf of Prof. Adebanji Akintoye, the leader of the Yoruba Nation movement.

This movement is calling for the UK Prime Minister and his government to intervene in their efforts to create a country primarily for the indigenous Yoruba people.

Igboho’s spokesman Koiki announced this on his X page on Monday.

He wrote: “At exactly 14:00 hrs Dr. Chief Sunday Igboho delivered a petition to the UK Prime Minister on behalf of Prof. Adebanji Akintoye, leader of the YORUBA NATION movement, and Olayomi Koiki, his spokesman @10DowningStreet.”

Igboho has been at the forefront of the actualization of a Yoruba nation.

Akintoye previously accused the Nigerian government of attempting to pressure Igboho into abandoning his activism.

The octogenarian revealed that during Igboho’s struggles in Benin Republic, former Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (retd.) leveraged his position as an envoy to deliver a document to Igboho in prison, offering him billions of naira in exchange for renouncing his campaign for a Yoruba nation.

However, Igboho declined to sign the document, which was later taken away by Buratai.

He stated, “Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, visited him in prison, offering billions of naira if he would simply sign a document that Buratai provided.

“The document requested that he (Igboho) declare that he had renounced the Yoruba Nation struggle and no longer wished to be involved in it, effectively opting out.”
