France Football, the organization behind the Ballon d’Or awards, plans to introduce a new rule starting this year.
With more than two weeks remaining until the ceremony on October 28, speculation is growing about who will win the award.
Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid is widely expected to take home the prize, competing against notable players such as Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, and Rodri.
Vinicius had an impressive performance as Los Blancos secured the LaLiga and Champions League titles last season.
However, Mario Cortegana, a correspondent for The Athletic, reports that the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner will not be interviewed by France Football prior to the award presentation, breaking from previous tradition.
Cortegana states that the winner will find out about their victory when the envelope is opened during the live ceremony.
