Fuel hike: Tinubu Handling of the Fuel Subsidy is the Reason Behind Nigeria’s Current Economic Difficulties – Says Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated on Thursday that President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s disorganized handling of fuel subsidy management is to blame for Nigeria’s current economic difficulties.

Atiku also accused Tinubu of being indifferent to the hardships faced by Nigerians.

His comments were in response to the recent increase in petrol prices by the National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

The NNPCL increased the price of fuel from N897 to N1,030 per litre in Abuja and from N855 to N998 in Lagos.

However, Atiku criticized what he sees as Tinubu’s lack of response to the nation’s economic challenges.

In a post on X, Atiku wrote: “The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country.

As things stand, there will be no let up in the escalating inflation rate, which is drowning the material well-being of Nigerians.

“It is even more worrying that T-pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country.”
