A well known Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat is dead.
Her death was confirmed on Tuesday morning by Ilorin-based cleric, Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh, through his official Facebook page.
Jubril Gawat, a media aide to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also shared a brief message on X, stating, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return. Q 2 V 156.”
Rukayat was widely recognized for her mesmerizing voice, which deeply connected with many in the Muslim community.
