Three-time world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has pointed out the error Anthony Joshua made during his fight against Daniel Dubois.
Dubois knocked Joshua out in the fifth round of their heavyweight bout on Saturday night at Wembley.
Lewis suggests that Joshua’s weak defence made him vulnerable to Dubois’ powerful punches.
Lennox Lewis, speaking to TNT Sports, highlighted Joshua’s mistake against Dubois by saying, “The issue with that punch was that he didn’t lead with a jab.”
He explained, “If he had thrown a jab first… no one should attempt an uppercut from that distance against a dangerous opponent. That was his mistake.”
Lewis added, “I’m sure Daniel Dubois saw the opening and thought, ‘That chin is exposed, let me throw my right hand.'”
