The Osun State Police Command has cautioned that it will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the peace and security of the state.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba, through the Command spokesperson Yemisi Opalola on Wednesday, the police stated that they will not stand by and allow troublemakers to disturb the state’s peaceful environment.
According to a statement from Opalola, a warning has been issued following revelations that certain individuals ae attempting to disturb the peace in the state.
The command stated that these unnamed individuals are dissatisfied with the peaceful conduct and suspension of the EndBadGovernance protest that took place across the country, including in the state.
The statement says, “The Osun State Police Command wants to notify the public that it is aware of the actions of certain malicious elements trying to disturb the peace in the state.
“These individuals are dissatisfied with the peaceful End Bad Governance protest performed by the Coalition of Civil Organizations, Osun State Chapter, which was paused on August 6th, 2024, in respect of the Osun Osogbo Festival.”
“The Command tells the public that it will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the peace and security of the state.
“The Command will not stand by and allow troublemakers to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the state.
“The public is advised to stay calm, continue with their lawful activities, and report any illegal gatherings in any part of the state.”
