Internationally acclaimed South African actress Connie Chiume has passed away at the age of 72.
Best known for her roles in Black Panther and Wakanda Forever, Chiume died on Tuesday at Garden City Hospital.
In a public statement on Tuesday, her family revealed tat “The Chiume Family regrets to inform you of the passing of internationally acclaimed award-winning actress Connie Chiume.
“Connie, 72, died yesterday August 6, 2024, at Garden City Hospital. The family will provide further details and request privacy during this difficult time.”
The late actress became famous for her roles in popular TV shows like Mohlolohadi, Zone 14, Yizo Yizo, Rhythm City, Housekeepers, and Grassroots, as well as in the Marvel movie Black Panther.
Recently, she starred in the hit series Gomora and appeared in Beyoncé’s film Black Is King.
