Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, criticized President Bola Tinubu’s daughter, Folashade, for her recent comments asking Nigerians to give her father three years in office before assessing his performance.
In a recent statement, Folashade Tinubu encouraged the public to remain patient and advised against joining the hunger protest planned for August 1 to 10.
However, VeryDarkMan strongly criticized her comments in a video released on Monday.
He accused her of ignoring the severe economic difficulties that Nigerians are facing under Tinubu’s administration.
The social media critic pointed out that the current administration’s first year has been characterized by economic hardship and a significant increase in fuel prices.
“Do you understand that people wouldn’t be complaining if your father’s first year in office wasn’t the worst in Nigeria’s presidential history?” VeryDarkMan asked.
He encouraged Folashade to convince her father to tackle the worsening economic issues and avoid exacerbating the situation.
Moreover, he mentioned Tinubu’s previous opposition to fuel price hikes during Goodluck Jonathan’s presidency, arguing that similar protests are justified now because of the current government’s policies.
While condemning any potential violence linked to the protests, he stressed the importance of advocating for economic rights.
“Warn your father that Nigerians are struggling. Speak to him on our behalf. Did you warn your Dad when he protested against Goodluck Jonathan for raising the fuel price from #65 to #87? The only thing I won’t support is violence from protesters. Stand up for your rights, Nigerians.
“Protest, but avoid looting. Look at the prices of goods—fuel is over N700 and still scarce. Just raising prices doesn’t ensure availability,” he added
