Popular Nigerian food blogger Yemisi Sophie Odusanya, widely known as Sisi Yemmie, has welcomed twins.
In a YouTube video, she recounted her surprising experience of discovering she was pregnant with twins, noting that she hadn’t planned on having more children.
Reflecting on her surprise, Sisi Yemmie said, “It’s shocking to realize that I’m now a mom of five. If someone had told Yemisi of two years ago that she would have more babies, I would have called them a liar. If they had said I would have twins, I would have insisted ‘You’re lying,’ because I have no idea how it happened.”
She expressed her disbelief upon discovering she was expecting twins and explained how it impacted her social media activity.
“Sometimes, when something like this happens, it can cause you to withdraw, and I think that’s what happened to me. I couldn’t function normally because I was in a different headspace,” she stated.
Although regular scans confirmed the twin pregnancy, Sisi Yemmie admitted that she didn’t fully comprehend the reality until they were born.
“I didn’t think they were real until I saw them. Even during the scans, when they said, ‘There are two inside,’ it was hard to comprehend,” she said.
Adapting to her new life as a mother of five has been a major transition for her family. “It’s been a journey trying to adjust. We’re now a family of seven, which is a lot. When I go out, some people are so confused and ask, ‘Whose babies are these?’ Many of my friends and even family members didn’t know I was pregnant because I kept it to myself,” she stated.
