Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has urged southeast youths to disregard calls for protests against the government.

He claimed that those advocating for such protests are enemies of the country aiming to destabilize the national government.

The governor made these remarks in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, during the grand finale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign for the local government election.

He stated that the people of the region have no reason to protest against the current government, emphasizing that the federal government and President Bola Tinubu are making significant efforts to resolve the economic challenges faced by the people

Uzodinma, chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, also urged the people to give the government more time to address and resolve the challenges.

He stated, “To the youth of the southeast, as we progress on our path of growth, our adversaries are attempting to disrupt the national government.

“They will approach you, encouraging you to protest. Ask those who urge you to protest where their own children are. Why should you be the one to protest, and what exactly are you protesting against?”

“This is our government, President Bola Tinubu’s administration is ours. Therefore, no one from the Southeast will protest. We are not discontented; we have hope.”

Whatever they mention, this government is barely one year in office. Yes we know about the hardship, we are aware things are hard, but I promise you that the president is working so hard to release money to the people, to deliver infrastructure to the people and to release and increase food security to the people. Follow your leaders, work with your leaders.”

In , APC national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje called on Nigerians to support the president’s efforts to improve the living standards of the people.

“I urge all Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the Federal Government in their efforts, programs, and actions aimed at improving the living standards of Nigerians.”

“I believe and am confident that soon, Nigerians will have reasons to smile and recognize the prudence and effective results of their support for the APC,” Ganduje stated.
